This program allows large electricity consumers to offer their load for curtailment when there is a sudden shortfall of electricity supply. Clients are paid for standing by their loads in case of such shortfall.
The dip in usage is the decrease in consumption of electricity by the client. This decrease in consumption provides relief to the grid. It is also possible to use the energy storage systems for consumption by the client instead of drawing energy from the grid, thus providing the same relief for the energy grid.
